Representation Of My Film

Whats Up Chat! Today I will be discussing the representation of  the characters in our film and how we portrayed them in our film. I will also be talking about how me and my group accomplished our goals of representation throughout the film. Here's how it went...

Representation: In our film we wanted our main character to be a bubbly, airhead, type of girl. Like a stereotypical teenage white girl in your average teenage movie. We achieved this through the montage portion of our film with our main character applying makeup like a girly girl. She applied blush, eyeliner, and lip gloss throughout the montage which helped portray the "pink", bubbly atmosphere. She also is showed as super happy and doesn't think to much about things. When she answer the phone she is super happy and excited to talk to her boyfriend. And in the outside scenes she didn't think to much about how her boyfriend "disappeared". All these factors contributed to the stereotypical "white girl" character we wanted to portray in our movie. The boyfriend is the killer in our movie and I think we did a good job portraying him as the killer in the little bit of screen time he received. He wore all black with a ski mask and he only appeared in shadowy areas with little to no light. He is also shown holding a knife at the end and killing our main character. This represented the slasher/horror aspect of our movie. With the addition of sound effects and background movie I think we effectively implemented the slasher aspect into our movie. Overall, representation of the different genres and ideas we wanted to portray in our movie wasn't a challenge throughout filming.
