Final Overview

 What's Up Chat! As we are winding down on our last few blogs I want to talk about the challenges and things I would've done differently throughout the duration of filming this project. Here's my thoughts...

Challenges: To begin I feel that working in a group is a big challenge. Although it lightens the workload and honestly makes things 10x easier. Its hard to explain and portray your ideas to someone so that they view it the same way as you. I wish I could show someone what I am thinking in my head so that they could completely understand what I am saying. Although everyone has their own opinions and different ways of viewing things I learned that it's better to speak your mind rather than just go with the flow of things. Additionally, one major challenge that set the entire project back was Jasmine's hair. Jasmine had locs at the beginning of filming the project and in the process of filming she changed her hair to braids. This threw off the shots as she would have 2 different hairstyles in the shots, forcing us to refilm shots we have already filmed. Although she is not to blame and me and my group should've worked more productively with our film time while she had her locs. This would've gave us a lot of time to debrief and overview what me and my group have done so far and address any concerns. Additionally, I would've rented some film gear. I like the video quality of my camera and I don't think its bad quality at all but its more orientated for taking photos of people. Therefore, I would have rented high quality camera equipment as well as a microphone. Me and my group faced this problem in the middle of a film session as my camera wasn't compatible with one of the microphones my group member provided. I also would've brought light equipment as lighting inside the rooms and house in general was a big problem. We faced many challenges with the lighting because of time management as well as overall layout of the film location.
