Last Day of Filming!
What's Up Chat! Today I will be discussing what it was like on scene for the last day of filming for our group project. Here's how it went...
Last Day: To begin our last day was on a Monday. This means all 4 of us had to immediately make our way to Courtney's after school was over at 2:40 so that we would have enough time to debrief and catch the sunlight. Once we arrived at Courtneys house everybody was hungry so we all decided to take a quick 15-30 minute lunch break. After our lunch break we got started ASAP. We already did our debrief so all there was left to do was get straight into action and film. We first filmed Jasmine running down the stairs. This took a few tries as Jasmine wasn't really in character like my group wanted her to so we had to refilm to make sure she was acting in a way that matched the aesthetic of the film. Moreover, after we filmed her going down the stairs we filmed her walking outside looking confused, these shots were simple only about 2-3 retakes. Then we filmed her walking back inside closing the door with me hiding behind the door with a mask on in the dark waiting for the perfect moment to strike! She then sits on the couch and makes an attempt to call me to try to figure out where I am. This was the longest part of filming. Since, my group decided to film 2 different endings to figure out which worked best with the film. So ending 1 was me killing her, which was simple as I just arose from behind the sofa and stabbed her while she was sitting down trying to call me. Ending 2 was me looking down at the couch looking lost and confused because essentially Jasmine just disappeared in front of my eyes. After this shot we had to film Jasmine popping out from behind the curtains and stabbing me. We had to refilm the last shot as I was nervous about having her behind me with prop knife attempting to stab me. It also took a few retakes for Jasmine to be more aggressive in her slash as if she was actually trying to stab me. After we finally got what my group calls a "perfect shot" we all rejoiced, packed our stuff, and exited just in time to pack for our college trip.
