Jasiah Vs Angles

What's Up chat! Today we will be discussing different Angles and Shots me and my group decided to use for our movie. We didn't use that many different shots and angles for our film as its only 2 minutes long. The shots and angles we used were what we decided what would best portray the films direction and purpose of our film. We had many discussions on angles and how we wanted to film our scenes and after our discussion we decided the shots/angles used were the best fit. Here's how it went...

Overhead: This shot is an overhead shot. We used this shot for our montage in the beginning of our film. We wanted to have a teenage dream atmosphere and we took some inspiration from Barbie: Dreamhouse. We wanted to show our character reaching out and grabbing one of the makeup tools placed on the desk. An overhead shot would best portray this goal and it also helps us transition into the close up shot we used to show our main character applying her makeup. The overhead into the close-up is perfect for the atmosphere of our movie which is why we chose these 2 shots.

Close-up Shot: This shot was used to transition from our overhead shot. In our montage we wanted to add the teenage dream aspect and through this we used a lot of close-ups showing our character applying her makeup just like an average teenage girl. This is one of the close-ups used in our montage. We wanted to show the viewer how our character apply her makeup. We also have background sound during the montage to help the teenage dream atmosphere.

Loose Close-up: In this shot we wanted to show the phone ringing but also have our character in the background as well. We wanted to send our film in a new direction away from the teenage dream into the slasher/horror movie aspect of our film. Having the boyfriend call our main character and showing the phone ring would help transition our movie as the boyfriend is essentially the killer of our movie. To achieve this goal we adjusted the focus of the camera to make the background more blurred and put focus on the phone ringing.

Anyways that's all for shots and angles see you guys in the next blog!
