Inspirations
What's Up Chat! Today we will be talking about the inspiration for me and my groups project. Our genre is a teenage dream/slashers movie. There is a lot of movies under these 2 categories but me and my group narrowed down our inspiration into 2 main movies. We also used a view short films as an idea to help guide us during our project.
Scream: As you all may know I talk about Scream a lot. The reason for this is because Scream is our main inspiration for the horror movie aspect. This is one of the most popular slasher movies and in our film we want to incorporate a slasher type of villain which is the boyfriend. Although this was our original inspiration as our project started to take a turn in the plot we used short films to help us. Most of the ending was inspired by a short film Nyles saw and wanted to utilize for the ending of our project. The killer has a mask for his costume and a long butcher knife as his murder weapon. This is all inspired by scream as Ghostface wears a mask and has a long knife as his murder weapon.
Barbie: Now for the first part of our movie, the teenage dream aspect, we use the cartoon version of Barbie. This was Courtney's idea as she is a girly girl and she watches these types of cartoons and movies. After watching one of the barbie movies she decided that it would be a great inspiration to accomplish the teenage dream side of our movie. The beginning and the montage portion of our movie is inspired by barbie. Especially the makeup scenes where our character is applying her "blush" and lip gloss we took inspiration from how the producers in the barbie movie showed her applying makeup. Seeing how barbie produced their soft, pink, girly atmosphere was a perfect inspiration for how we wanted to film our movie. With the barbie movie in the back of our minds we created a teenage, girly atmosphere with makeup, angles/shots, and background music.
That's all for today chat see you guys in the next blog!
