Preparing to Film

 What's Up chat! Today me and my group were discussing our pre-evaluations for our filming process. We discussed different factors such as Actors, Costumes, Props, Location, Dates and Times, and Film equipment. The easy things to consider were the Location and Film Equipment as me and my group already have good filming equipment and a location that is easily accessible for all of us. Additionally, the props were very easy to decide because we are doing a slasher movie of course we need a prop knife. The hardest thing to consider was the DATE and TIME. Trying to match all of our schedules with each other and find a perfect time to actually film and get stuff done was really challenging. Everyone in the group has their own personal stuff going on so this withheld us from filming for a very long time. Luckily, we all decided on a date on 1/10/2025 to decide to film.

Actors: An actor is someone who is participating in an action or process. For our film we decided the best actors would be Jasmine and Me. Since our movie is also a Teenage Dream/Romance, we needed a couple. And what better than an actual couple such as me and jasmine to play the role of boyfriend and girlfriend in our movie. I also gave up the idea of Nyles playing the boyfriend for Courtney or Jonnelle so that I could focus on filming and camera movements/angles. But ultimately, me and my group came to a census that me and Jasmine would be the best fit.

Costumes: A costume is a set of clothes in a style typical of a particular country or historical period. For our costumes we decided a Jock outfit for me. This is a red varsity jacket, black jeans, white shirt, and Red Dunks to match the outfit. For Jasmine we picked a White tube top, blue varsity Jacket (to match mine), blue jeans, and sandals.

Props: A prop is an object used in films that is not part of the set or worn by the actor. For props we picked makeup for the opening scene and a knife for our final scene. We didn't need many props in our movie since it didn't match the idea we were trying to go for.

Location: an actual place or natural setting in which a film or broadcast is made, as distinct from a simulation in a studio. For our location we decided on using Courtney's house as the primary filming location. Her house as the aesthetic that we were ideally trying to accomplish within us film. The bedroom, 2 stories, and surrounding neighborhood fit the movie aesthetic.

Dates and Times: The particular day, month and year an event has happened or will happen. For our date and time, we decided that January 10th, the day school was cancelled on a Friday, would be the best date and time for our filming session.

Film Equipment: For our Filming equipment we decided to use my Camera, a tripod, and lights attached to the camera. The camera I own is a Rebel T7 x, I think it has very nice quality, although I haven't mastered all the settings to get the full effects of the camera, I think it'll work really well for our movie.
