Jasiah Vs Storyboarding
What's Up Blog! Today I learned about Storyboarding, how it works, and why it's helpful. Using this knowledge I decided to storyboard a clip from American Sniper, specifically the 1 mile shot. Here's how it went...

Experience:
Through storyboarding I learned how tedious and time-consuming it is to plan and direct a movie.. Putting out your ideas on paper makes it easier for others to visualize and share your ideas. I think storyboarding is important because it gives your filming process structure. It aligns every scene in whatever way you want it. I also think it is important to have a rough draft of your ideas before actually filming to get an overview of your structure. Furthermore, you can make any edits or changes before you start filming.
Through my experience some challenges I faced was the drawing portion. Being someone who can draw makes the storyboarding 10 times easier. As a person with not a lot of artistic capabilities I found the storyboarding to be very difficult. Also with some scenes there's not a lot of stuff going on, in terms of mis-en-scene, and I felt the pressure of trying to make sure I put as much as possible. I also found it difficult to try to recreate the scenes in the way that I was visualizing it. I feel like I didn't do a good job putting my idea's on to paper like how I wanted to. Personally, I'm not a big fan of storyboarding, since I don't think I have very good artistic capabilities
