1 World, 3 Parts

What's up chat, today I learned about different transitions and editing styles. I picked 6 videos, edited them, chose some of my favorite transitions and today I'm going to show how I used them...

Jump Cut:
In this short video I was in vacation in California riding an electric bike with my cousins and my sister sitting right behind me. The video looks almost like a Pov shot, since my sister was the one recording. We were riding ours bikes towards a golf course and at the end of the video you can see me and my cousins riding through a tunnel on the golf course. The transition is a jump cut showing me and my cousins (the subject) going from a neighborhood into a tunnel (switching backgrounds). Editing this was really easy, I just used Cap Cut and connected the 2 videos together.

Eyeline Match:
In filmed this during class in school. I used my friend Jonnele (the girl with the red hair) and my friend Megan (the girl with the blanket) to film these shots. I saw Megan sleeping so I decided it would be the perfect opportunity to film a transition. I chose eyeline match because this is one of my favorite transitions and I see it used a lot in movies. Editing this was also not hard since all I had to do was film 2 separate videos, 1 of Jonnele staring at Megan and the other of Megan sleeping from Jonnele's point of view. Once I got these 2 videos I went on Cap Cut and just put them together.

Fade:
I filmed these shots inside the school at different times. In the first shot I filmed looking upwards at the clouds showing the dark, ominous weather as looks a big storm is about to start (A storm definitely did occur with heavy rain and lightning). In the second shot I filmed after the storm showing how the sky looked later in the day. I think this is my favorite shot, since I can kind off use it as like a hidden message showing the calm after the storm or that after every hardship or battle things get better. I used the fade transition to show a change in the time and background. Editing this was the most work I had to do out of all of the transitions (It wasn't hard). I used Cap Cut when into animations and click fade out for the first clip and made the animation last for 3 seconds. For the second clip I just used fade in and made it last 3 seconds as well.

Thank You for tuning into this blog I really enjoyed editing these since I got to work on my editing skills, I look forward to posting a new blog soon.
